About Library
A library is the heart of any educational institution. Lakhipur College library serves as a hub for learning, research and academic growth. It provides access to wide range of resources, including books, journals, CDs and supporting students and faculty in their academics pursuit. The Library was established in 1981, since it was playing a vital role growth and development of the college. The library is situated in the administrative building with 1500(approx) square feet floor area and it has a reading room with 50+ seating capacity for library users.
The library has comprises more than 10000 items of textbooks, reference books etc. Library uses ILMS (Integrated Library Management Software) SOUL 3.0 and classification of resources based on DDC 19th edition. For E-Resources, our library has become an active member of NDLI (National Digital Library of India), INFLIBNET centre and N-LIST consortia.

Library Facilities & Services
- Library User Orientation– The library orientation program is carried out for new users aware to the library and services provided by the library.
- Circulation service– HS and UG students can borrow 1 book and 2books respectively for 15 days, faculties can borrow 5 books for 180 days and other staff can borrow 3 books for 180 days.
- Reprographic Service– The library has also the facility of photo coping in the library circulation section at normal charge.
- Library Notice Board– Users can get the important notices about the library new services & facilities and also important notices about the college.
- Access to E-resources- Access to online e-resources through INFLIBNET & N-LIST consortia and NDLI.
- Periodicals and News papers-Daily news paper, monthly journal and magazines are subscribed for students and faculties.
- Access question papers– The library provides the question papers of previous years final exam for consultation.
- Book Bank Facility-Book bank facility is given to poor and differently able students according to Book Bank rules of the library.
Library Rules
- Every student must come to the library with college uniform.
- All personal belongings except the essential stationary items e.g., wallet, mobile phone, note book and library card will have to deposit in the property counter.
- Every member must sign the gate register available at the entrance.
- Every user must produce their library card at the time of borrowing books.
- Two books are issued to the students to degree course and one book is issued to the students of Higher Secondary Course.
- Books are issued for 15(fifteen) days only. A fine of Rs. 1.00 per day will be charged for each book kept beyond the due date.
- Members should get their books/documents checked at the check point while leaving the library.
- Books lost, torn or defected in anyway have to be replaced/ compensation paid by the borrower.
- Keep mobile phones in mute mode or vibration mode
- Users must maintain silence in the library.
- No eatable items are allowed in the library.
- The library card is not transferable and its loss must be reported immediately in writing to the librarian and fine of Rs.50/- will be charged for re-issue of a Library Borrower’s Card.
- Anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the library would be liable to lose the privilege of library membership.
